Uncle Ron's Seasoning, though selling wildly now, started out humbly as a friendly rivalry between its creator, Ron Juergens, and his best friend, Jerry. Always competitive, they set out to find who could create the perfect seasoning.
“I've spent countless hours reading because I wanted to be better, by far, than my friend is at cooking”. This is what led to the experimentation that evolved into the secret Uncle Ron's recipe. Originally, Ron designed it to be the perfect accompaniment to baby back ribs and pork loins for his friends and family. He then became amazed at how much his wife was actually giving away…he simply couldn't make enough to keep up with the demand. Plus, he was surprised at how it was being used on everything from ham to beef to chicken and eggs. The greatest compliment of all came when his rival and friend Jerry incorporated it into his recipe for shrimp.
Uncle Ron's is a blend of 20 different ingredients that really bring out the flavor in a wide variety of foods. “Being a pig farmer,” says Ron, “I'm kind of partial to pork. But I like beef, shrimp, and chicken too” He's used it on pork burgers, pork loins and chops, hamburgers, steaks, ribs and eggs. Customers have even told him they've used it on everything from popcorn to bacon. Says Ron, “They keep uncovering new possibilities. They're endless!”
